KIDS NEED CHIROPRACTIC TOO!

Jan 01

What is typically done when a child has an illness or symptom?

They are given medication. Unfortunately, drug use as a first step has become the norm in our society with no thought of the effects on our bodies. We are raising “drug dependent” children. Parents feel pressured to do something for a sick child and in the process have become easy prey for drug companies.

So what are we suppose to do in the best interest of our children? Most parents take their children in for periodical dental, eye, and hearing tests, but forget the most important exam, the spinal exam.

I hear it all the time. “Why does my kid need chiropractic care?” Most parents associate chiropractic with back or neck pain only. If their child is not complaining of either, then they feel it is not necessary. However, children do not feel pain the way adults do because of their immature nervous system. Their complaints are more systemic, such as allergies, upset stomach, ear infections, etc.

So what does this have to do with chiropractic? The spine is important because it houses the master control system of the body—the nervous system. The nervous system is responsible for normal development of every cell, tissue, and organ in the body.

Misalignments in the spine, or subluxations, cause stress in the nervous system and interfere with the brain’s ability to communicate with the body. Subluxations are caused by stresses such as poor posture, backpacks, learning how to walk, and even the birthing process itself. It is important to get checked regularly for nerve interference, which leads to nervous system dysfunction, which leads to things like asthma, chronic ear infections, ADD/ADHD, bed-wetting, autism, and any other condition that the nervous system controls.

Chiropractic is the only profession that detects and corrects subluxations. Chiropractic addresses the root cause, instead of just treating the effects or symptoms, in a safe, noninvasive way. Do children really need chiropractic care? YES—THEY DO!
